And our Sue's Clues Mystery Author is: Were you able to guess our Mystery Author this round? Probably, since as both a historical and a contemporary romance writer, she has a broad audience. Not to mention she has been writing for nearly 20 years. Kat Martin began writing in 1985, has published 30 novels, and now puts out a book every six months - one historical and one contemp. Before becoming an author, Kat attended the University of California at Santa Barbara, majoring in Anthropology and History. She came away with more than a degree, however. This happens to be where she found her husband, Larry. Larry Jay Martin is an accomplished photographer and an author of Western Novels. A visit to the Martins' web page (link below) will treat you to some of his beautiful photos. In a round about way we can thank Larry for Kat's career as a writer. It was while helping him edit one of his books that she discovered her love for writing. The rest, as they say, is history. Kat obviously takes her research seriously. So seriously she has traveled to England, France and Spain to do it! But when she's not traveling, Kat makes her home in Montana. Literally makes her home there. She and Larry spent a year designing their home, and then built it upon their property. With 25 acres in Montana to choose from, they've obviously picked the one with the most gorgeous view, judging from the photos. I imagine they spent quite a few hours riding one or two of their five horses, exploring the property to find the perfect site for the new home. *sigh* After visiting Kat and Larry's pages, I've found myself wanting to tell my husband, "Go West, young man!"
