Your new book is WHISPERS IN THE DARK. Can you tell us about it?
Whispers features the youngest Kelly brother, Nathan, who disappeared at the end of HIDDEN AWAY. Here we find out that he was captured in combat and held prisoner for several months in the mountains of Afghanistan. At his lowest point, he hears a woman's voice. An angel. Somebody who couldn't possibly be real. Could she? Working to keep him strong, Shea Peterson helps Nathan maintain his sanity and also enables him to escape his captors and then he's rescued by his brothers and taken home. But Nathan knows that Shea is real but he can't possibly explain her to his family. He's not the same man. He's withdrawn, deals daily with his demons and Shea haunts him. He knows she's out there but has no idea how to find her until the day she reaches out to him again, asking for his help.
Where did you get the idea for this series?
The KGI series is something that has been with me for several years. Since before I was published. the stories and characters have lived in my mind very impatiently waiting to be told and when I finally got the opportunity, it was freeing and exciting to be able to get onto paper the family and their stories where before they'd only lived in my imagination.
Of all your books, which one stands out for you the most?
I don't know about standing out, but my favorites are THE DARKEST HOUR, INTO THE MIST, SWEET ADDICTION and WHISPERS IN THE DARK. I loved Nathan and Shea's story, their connection and their intensely emotional romance.
What do you like to do in your free time?
What free time? Between writing and my family, I don't have much free time at all. I love to read when I can grab a few minutes and I love to travel. Luckily for me, I can combine travel and work, otherwise I'd never get to go anywhere!
What's next for you? What are you working on now?
I just finished up ECHOES AT DAWN, COLTER'S PROMISE and am almost finished with EXILED. Up next for me will be my next Scottish Historical that releases in Oct 2012.
