Prairie Moon by Maggie Osborne

Ten years after the war, James Cameron rides into Della Ward's life intending to tell her the truth about her husband's death. But he can't bring himself to reveal that he is the man who killed Della's young husband. Cameron has fallen in love with the woman whose photo he has carried all these years.

Della's last letter to her husband ended with the words, "I hate you". Guilt and remorse have been painful companions for many years. And there are other secrets . . .

James Cameron and Della Ward are connected by the past and trapped by the past. Before they can surrender to a growing passion, they must find a way to forgive themselves and each other.

RRAH'S COMMENTS:

I love Maggie Osborne! Her stories are always intriguing and her writing style never fails to envelop me within the emotions of the characters she creates. Prairie Moon is a story about dealing with guilt, self-doubt and learning forgiveness, both of yourself and of others.

You can never go wrong reading a Maggie Osborne book, with most ending up on your keeper shelves.

Easily the best western romance I have read in a very long time. Della and James are such complex characters yet I felt I was inside of their minds and experiencing the growth between them. This book kept me riveted and I stayed up half the night to finish it. If you like unsuspected twists, this is a great book for you.
