RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:4 Rose Read

Rosalyn, Lady Carrigston, is heartsick at the thought of her upcoming nuptials. Walter, Lord Bosworth, a man she couldn't stand, was to be her husband the next morning. Before she went to bed he came into her room with rape on his mind. She fought him, but to no avail and when he slugged her, she passed out just as she was trying to figure out a way to get to the poker and hit it him with it.

Rory Kerr, Lord Glendarach, and his clansman, Sir Hector Kerr, were hiding in the forest near the Scottish border when they heard the sound. It was Rosalyn after she had escaped from the castle. She knew if she had stayed the English would have hung her for murder. She didn't remember hitting Bosworth, but the fact that he lay dead on her chamber floor was enough to convince her.

Rory took her with them to protect her, but when he heard the next day about the murdered Bosworth, he wondered. Still, he would not let her go and kept her hidden within his walls.

THE MIST RIDER, by Fiona Neal, is a fast paced novella that keeps the reader turning the pages to find out the outcome of a once more intriguing tale. I have read Ms. Neal before, and she always seems to keep my attention with believable characters, an interesting plot and excellent writing. If you like steamy sex and a happy ending, her books are for you. I highly recommend her, and am looking forward to her next great story.
