Tall, Dark and Western by Kay Le Grand

On a scorching August afternoon, Bethany Griffith staggers into Crowe County, Wyoming Sheriff Nathan Ballard's office, telling a disjointed tale of strange activity at a ghost town called Cameo.

Naturally, the Sheriff is skeptical.

"The precise perfection of his teeth flashed white against sun-burnished skin. Bethany’s heart gave a single, convulsive jerk as a shock wave of thermonuclear energy radiated outward from her center to her arms and legs, her fingers and toes. She suspected he knew full well the impact of that smile and had planned for it. She was sure he meant to sweep her up in a stampede of raw, screaming power."

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

Bethany Griffith shows up at the police station with barely enough clothes on to cover her. She has been kidnapped, her van stolen along with her money and credit cards, and barely escaped. She has walked thirty miles to town to barely make it to the station. Sheriff Nathan Ballard was shocked at the condition of the woman entering his station.

He gets a shirt wrapped around her and gradually gets her story from her before he takes her to the doctor. She had been at the ghost town, Cameo, looking for something from her deceased father. With no money or clothes, he takes her to stay with his sister, and for some reason decides to take it upon himself to keep her safe. But Bethany decides to go back to Cameo and find the object she is searching for.

TALL, DARK AND WESTERN by Kay LeGrand is a page turning mystery romance. In a small town in Wyoming, there has been a murder in the town of Cameo, and Nathan has been working to find the killer that is still loose. Ms. Le Grand does a great job of adding a little humor into her very good characters and interesting plot line. It kept me from putting the novel down for long because of the mystery and love story involved. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and would recommend this author to anyone.
