AN AFFECTION FOR AN UNMARRIED LADY by Fanny Delarose, is an absolutely charming novel that kept me entertained from beginning to end.

Our heroine, Lady Ann Astweir, is the epitome of grace and lovliness and a perfect example of a damsel in distress. She is very dainty and cutesy, and you can't help but like her tremendously and laugh at her silly antics.

The hero is Gordon Treezwey, and he is so perfect for Lady Ann and her story, that you fall in love with him just because he suits her so well, if nothing else!! He is very manly and good looking and proper—until there comes an obstacle to his being with Ann. Then it's no-holds-barred for our hero! He is a charming character and you will love him the second he enters the story.

The secondary characters—I didn't really think of them as such, but more as a whole slew of leading characters—were wonderful, and I found myself loving the friendships and families these characters had. It was more like a novel with three innertwined stories, as opposed to one couple and their friends and families.

This book is fast paced and well written, and anyone looking for a good book with some humor, spice, and lots of warmth should grab this one up!!
