So who doesn't think about the first time they "hooked up" with someone? Well, actually I don't, but I know a lot of people do, so Kimberly Raye's new one, SOMETIMES NAUGHTY, SOMETIMES NICE, might be a humorous walk down memory lane for some readers. For me, the walk is littered with good jokes and spicy humor but a bit on the raunchy side. Gray hair, down there, is more than I can handle in a romance book. Yes, it's a fact of life, but having a wax job to get rid of it is not romantic in the least {shudder}. Not to mention that it's brought up on several occasions in the book. Some might think it's funny; I just thought it was gross. Now don't get me wrong, there is some funny and sexy stuff in here. The heroine, Xandra Farrel, has a mother who hosts a talk show about men being inferior to women and marriage being a form of bondage. What a hoot that is! Especially when you find out the above mother has another daughter (Skye) that recently experienced marital bliss, and another daughter (Eve) that lives to torment her with fake tattoo's of a man's name on her butt! I guess if you can get past the raunchy side of things, or if you like raunchy, SOMETIMES NAUGHTY, SOMETIMES NICE is cool. Shannon Johnson |
