Dr. Braeden Landry is a respected cardiac surgeon and known womanizer at Bayview Heights General Hospital. He takes his work very seriously leaving little or no time for relationships. Braeden tried love once and was betrayed, and now ends any relationship when the woman gets serious. He doesn't approve of the new dietitian, Andrea Martin's overly friendly approach to his cardiac patients.

Andrea Martin moved to Nova Scotia's Bayview Heights General to start over, where her co-workers don't know about her recent health problems. Every day is a pleasure until Dr. Landry returns to fill her days with stress, which causes her health problems to resurface. The sexual tension is almost more than Andrea can stand, but Braeden's touch gives Andrea a charge she's not sure she can live without.

BE STILL, MY HEART! is an emotional heart-tugging romance between two strong people. Because of Braeden's past he jumps to wrong conclusions about Andrea's loving nature, even though he envies the hugs she gives his patients. Andrea longs to be loved, but is afraid the pain of losing again would permanently break her heart.

Ms. McPhee has written an engaging character-driven romance. BE STILL, MY HEART! starts off a little slow, but takes off after a few chapters. I did have a problem toward the end with the extra drama, but overall a great afternoon of reading. I highly recommend BE STILL, MY HEART!
