CRIMSON CITY is a paranormal romance set in a futuristic Los Angeles, where the humans, vampires and werewolves manage to survive in an uneasy truce. When the two leaders of the vampires are assassinated, their sister, Fleur Dumont, and a human cop, Dain Reston, team up to expose those responsible.

Ms. Maverick has written a fast-paced, nail-biting, action-packed romance. There are many loose ends at the end, but I assume they'll be addressed in the other books in the series. Even with the loose-ends, I found it a satisfying read. CRIMSON CITY is good fun, especially for fans of the subgenre.
