Risk Everything by Sophia Johnson

When Darkness Falls

Upon a moonless midnight, his face in shadow, a silent man came riding. Could it be? Is it him, so far from his lands and his people? Meghan can make no mistake, not when her heart cries out his name: Rolf MacDaidh. She had loved him once, in secret-and now the man they called the Lord of Vengeance wanted her...

To Rolf, Meghan of Blackthorn is more precious than gold. But he must forget his bygone dreams of her as his bride and remember that she is no more than a captive now. Yet her beauty bewitches him still-and her spirit kindles a passionate desire that cannot be tamed...

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

RISK EVERYTHING is one of those books that you pick up to start reading, and all of a sudden, you realize that it is three o'clock in the morning and you have finished the entire thing. Sophia Johnson gives us a beautiful story of love and redemption that kept me on the edge of my seat and loving every minute.

Meghan of Blackthorn is a bit of a tomboy. She likes to ride horses astride, wear boys clothing and train with her grandfather's men. But, there is one man who makes her feel every bit a woman. That man is Rolf MacDaidh, The Lord of Vengeance.

Rolf rides onto Blackthorn land seeking revenge from Meghan's brother, Connor. What better way to get revenge than to take his enemy's sister captive? Rolf had loved Meghan once many years ago, and she had loved him, but now, all these years later, they are like strangers to one another.

Watching Meghan and Rolf rekindle a love from long ago and try to jump over hurdles from every conceivable angle, is the stuff dreams are made of. Rolf is handsome, strong, and courageous and would make any woman's heart sing. Meghan is strong, beautiful and spunky and is a take-no-bull kind of gal. More than once throughout this book, I applauded her bravery and her spunk.

Sophia Johnson really knows how to tell a story. There is depth and intrigue, a wonderful plot, and a beautiful love that took my breath away. RISK EVERYTHING had me wishing that it would never end, and left me gladly waiting for the release of Sophia Johnson's next book.
