RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:4 Rose Read

ONCE UPON A SPY is a great read. I especially like the way the author didn't waste so many words on how "his eyes smoldered" or how "her breasts heaved." And maybe because the book is short, 30,000 words tops, the author gets right to the heart of the story in a hurry. I especially liked the hero, Broaderick, in this tale. What an interesting character, very sexy in an intellectual and shadowy sort of way. It was a little harder to warm up to the heroine, Elise, probably because you don't really know who she is for awhile. She's a bit brazen too; doubtless an occupational hazard. But, still, ONCE UPON A SPY is an intriguing story that is hard to put down, and one that you must pay attention to the detail. Still, I recommend it to you for a short read, preferably while it's storming outside and you have the house to yourself for bit of mysterious enjoyment.
