Get Bunny Love by Kathleen Long

Masculine. In control. That's Nathan McNulty, from his pinstripes to his wingtips. His next big assignment? Producing the Worthington Cup dog show in Philadelphia. The tall, handsome CEO needs an event coordinator with lots of experience, creative talent and positive energy to burn. Fortunately, that happens to be the perfect description of just-plain-gorgeous Bunny Love, the only applicant for the job. Except for the experience part...

Fake it? Bunny's not that kind of girl. It's a good thing Nate is willing to teach her everything he knows--starting tonight. Between his intense inquiries and mesmerizing eyes, she's about to melt into his corporate carpet. But Bunny has just one question to ask him. Is it possible for a woman to spontaneously combust?

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

Unfortunately, I just don't get, GET BUNNY LOVE by Kathleen Long. Get emotional about it, I mean. I am, amazingly enough, completely indifferent to it. It evokes no passion in me of any type. It's not bad, it's not good. It just is. Well, it's cute, I guess...well, sort of. See? I am not even sure about that! As I read the story I never howled with laughter at Bunny's (the heroine) attempts at feung shui, which continually backfired. I never screamed or got angry at Nate, the perfect uptight hero. Not once did my eyes mist with tears when Bunny's feelings were crushed by Nate, over and over. I just read this one without feeling anything.

However, I did wonder about several things: Why was Bunny hired for a job she has no qualifications for, if Nate has only one chance to stop his aunt from selling the firm? Seems to me, no one in the real world would hire a newbie to their field, and expect them to work miracles on an account that will make or break a company!? They would make time to find the right person, or do it all themselves, hands down. Also, how on earth could Bunny stay so cheerful and upbeat, when twice she causes accidents so severe that people have to be out of action for weeks?! And no one sues for medical expenses? Yeah, right.

Wondering about the "sense" of this book made all the other would-be funny or touching scenes fade into the background. I had a few chuckles over a couple of dog antics and a self-absorbed male secondary character, but didn't care if Bunny and Nate ever got together. GET BUNNY LOVE just doesn't get me going anywhere.
