Deja is a talented photographer who hides behind her camera and her bubbly personality. She doesn't look anything like the skinny women she shoots all day, so when a hard-bodied male model asks her out, she figures he's way too good to be true. But that doesn't stop her from getting a little closer. Now, with their love lives heating up, Deja and Isrie are about to discover that things are rarely what they seem. Fortunately, they'll always have each other.

I give DON'T GET IT TWISTED a Top Pick, not because I think everyone will like it, but because the book deserves applause for its fabulous writing and refreshing originality.

Now, I will warn you, you have to get used to the ambiance of the book. It took me the first chapter to realize what sort of people I was reading about. The characters stun you with their brash language and forceful behavior. But, what likable characters! Deja and Isrie are beautiful women; their stories are absorbing. If you put aside your sensitivity to some harsh language, you will truly enjoy this book.
