Kissing in the Dark by Wendy Lindstrom

Her first lie is that she is a widow, but Faith Wilkins sees little choice in telling it. She moved to Fredonia to escape a deadly past, and safety depends upon maintaining the charade: She is a simple healer who moved to town to erect a greenhouse. She has to fool everyone, including Sheriff Duke Grayson, and she’ll do whatever it takes to do so.

But Duke is persistent and clever, and Faith knows it won’t be long before the handsome lawman uncovers all he wishes. And he wishes for Faith as his bride. But the sheriff is a protector of truth and justice. What will he do when he discovers her lies? It is one thing to kiss in the dark, but in the end, love has to withstand the light of day.

For the first time, Faith believes it is possible.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

KISSING IN THE DARK is one of the best books that I have read all year. I am extremely happy to have been the one to review this book, as I love to find new authors to read.

KISSING IN THE DARK is a story about Faith, a single mother trying to hide her past while relocating to Fredonia, New York. From the moment that she and Duke Grayson cross paths, there is love in the air. He is as determined to uncover her secrets, as much as she is to keep them, and the persistence in both of them is comical, at times.

Duke is hot, sexy and not afraid of a little challenge. I love how sure he is of himself. He knows that if he waits Faith out a little bit, she will crack or make some mistake and he will have her secret. Faith, on the other hand, has no intention of letting Duke or his mother or sisters wear her down. She is strong and willful, not to mention that her very life could depend upon her secret.

Faith's crazy family and Duke's nosey one are also a very nice set of secondary characters that had me laughing out loud through parts of the book.

Wendy Lindstrom has gotten an A+ from me for KISSING IN THE DARK. It is a light, easy read that reminded me why I love to read romance so much. I will buy Wendy Lindstrom's books anytime. She is a very gifted author and I am sure she will keep us avid readers entertained for years to come.
