Reforming the Rake by Sarah Elliott

Beatrice Sinclair prayed that her bold declaration would prove true. After so many fruitless years on the ton's marriage mart, life on the shelf seemed the more appealing prospect. At least as an avowed spinster, she wouldn't be bound by the silliness women went through to catch even the dullest of husbands!

Still, secretly, she yearned for romance—bone-melting, scandalous romance. If truth be told, what she really wanted—even if only for one mad, family-shocking moment—was a rake.

And Charles Summerson, Marquis of Pelham, tall, dark and notorious, seemed only too happy to oblige

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

REFORMING THE RAKE is a witty, sexy, well-written novel that I picked up and finished in no time! That is how great it is.

When Charles embarks on a seduction of the most beautiful girl in London, he has no idea what he is getting himself into. For Beatrice is not just any ordinary girl. She is feisty, spunky and refuses to marry without love. That is why she has had four Seasons. A romantic at heart, Beatrice just wants someone who will love her and cherish her above anyone else. Not an unrealistic dream for a girl from our time, but this is England 1816!

Charles is the perfect, brooding male hero with just the right amount of machismo and sensitivity, even if it takes him a little bit to catch on to things where women are concerned! I loved Charles for all of his boorish manners and rakish good looks, and thought that he was a perfect hero for Beatrice.

REFORMING THE RAKE is a fast paced read with a good plot and great, steamy love scenes. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for just the right romance novel to fill an evening.
