An Unlikely Match by Cynthia Thomason

Olivia Calwell’s new husband, Dane, is everything she could have ever hoped for in a man. The handsome Lord Greenleigh is charming, debonair, even a bit mysterious…and just thinking of their wedding night makes Olivia blush with pleasure. Yet she can’t help but wonder what exactly Dane does all day. His hushed meetings with strangers, his odd comings and goings—it is all enough to drive Olivia mad! Could her beloved husband be involved in something dangerous? Could he even be spying for France?

Spy Dane Calwell knows the new Lady Greenleigh is poised, well educated, and utterly captivating. But he’s just discovered that Olivia is also the most curious creature he has ever met! Most wives don’t give a whit what their husbands do all day. Why must Olivia ask so many questions—and meddle in matters that do not concern her? Truth be told, Dane finds Olivia’s amateur sleuthing enchanting…even a little sexy. But when Olivia gets too close to the mission at hand, Dane must try to stop her before it’s too late—or risk losing his beautiful wife forever…

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

So, the Lion roars in SURRENDER TO A WICKED SPY, with all the charisma and regal bearing of the noble breed he's nicknamed for.

Not!

It's rather hard to be regal when your best attempt at gallantry leaves you shoulder deep in filthy water with two feet stuck in the muck. *G*

It's scenes like that that make this latest Celeste Bradley offering of the Royal Four such a delectable treat. Once again, she combines just the right mix of action, humor and sizzling romance between two perfectly matched characters into one page turner of a romance that's sure to please both her current and new fans alike.

I can't tell you the number of times I chuckled out loud, much to my delight. Dane is such a loveable Hoss Cartwright character that you just can't help but love the guy. A blonde, gorgeous and big all over Viking god, a more noble and proud hero you couldn't find—that is, if you don't count any of the other Liar's Club heroes. Olivia, Dane's better half, is delightfully awkward, funny, and yet clever and astute, the perfect lioness for her proud, yet vulnerable mate. Throw in well drawn secondary characters and elusive villains as the hunt for the Chimera continues, and once you start reading, I'll bet that you, too, will SURRENDER TO A WICKED SPY, just the same as I did.
