If You Could Read My Mind by Pamela Labud

The son of an English lord and Gypsy princess, Tristan Deveraux has made his gift of telepathy bearable by helping wounded soldiers on the battlefields of Spain. But his commanding officer suspects Tristan's ability, and forces him to escort a brilliant scientist and his niece back to England.

With her uncle's life in danger, Emily Durbin is shocked by the small company of men assigned to them, especially the handsome, enigmatic surgeon's apprentie who seems to read her every thought—and invades her dreams with promises of a passion stronger than she has ever known...

But someone is desperate to kill the scientist and possess Emily at all costs. With an enemy in their midst, Tristan and Emily embark on a perilous journey home, and an even more dangerous one into the deepest reaches of the mind—and heart...

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

I'm not sure I would like it if the man I'm fascinated by could read my mind. It certainly worked out well for the Emily and Tristan in IF YOU COULD READ MY MIND, but I can't help but wonder if years later she grew weary of him passing the butter before she asked him to do it. Still, their romance is quite intriguing and full of action as everyone around them desires to kill them. You see there? That's another problem with his ability to read minds: family members try six ways to slay him. And Emily has her own set of troubles with murder. It's a wonder the two survive to pass the butter at breakfast.

That's why you need to check out Pamela Labud's IF YOU COULD READ MY MIND, just to see how it all works out. You won't be sorry you did.
