BORN TO THE BLADE...

Raised to fear no man, Deirdre of Rivenloch never backs down from a clash of steel or a threat to her lands and family. But when she tricks Sir Pagan Cameliard into marrying her in order to save her younger sister, she's faced with a new kind of enemy: a husband who would turn her resistance into a fire that heats her blood...and who would use all his cunning to make her cry his name in ultimate abandon. For Pagan has made his own wedding vow. He will best his sword-wielding bride in the field by day and make her surrender in his arms by night. Her heart will be his...even if it means being conquered by hers.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

Deirdre has trained as a soldier and leader all her life, but she has finally met her match in the knight who is now her husband, Pagan. Meanwhile, Pagan doesn't seem to know what to do with this woman who acts like the commander of an army, rather than a wife. Never have I encountered a couple as individually stubborn as these two. It was truly enjoyable to watch both Deirdre and Pagan exert all their strength and energy into trying to bend the other to their will. Deirdre believes she is as good a soldier as any man, and refuses to view Pagan as the new lord of the castle. Pagan believes if he shows Deirdre passion and desire she will melt in his arms and become a pliant wife. Needless to say, these two couldn't be more opposite in their thinking or more wrong.

Hold on, because once they both realize that being so stubborn may not be the best way to get what they want, they begin to view each other in a whole new light. Once they begin to relax their resistance, the tension that's been building flares to life, creating scenes of passion that will heat the room and melt any woman's heart.

You couldn't ask for much more than sword fights, strong wills and a true love with which to share it all.
