Drop Dead Gorgeous by Jennifer Skully

When Eliza White's widowed mother announces plans to sell the family house on Mars Street, Eliza returns home to help her pack, glad to take a break from her empty nest and failed marriage. As she digs through her family's belongings and her own past, Eliza uncovers secrets that offer startling revelations. For the first time in her life she begins to understand her enigmatic parents, as well as the choices she has made for herself. When a man from Moon Street walks through her front door, she finds herself, suddenly, at forty-two, caught up in the fragile magic of new beginnings.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

MY LIFE ON MARS is an introspective book and it is very well written. Again, I'm no fan of the first-person point-of-view because it causes slow reading, but Alicia Metcalf Miller did a wonderful job and didn't ramble on and on. This is a story about new beginnings. If you're experiencing an empty nest right now, if you've ever gone through a divorce, or if you've ever wondered if there's love after forty, then this is the perfect book. It's funny and it's a satisfying read. I highly recommend it.
