One of the things I love about reviewing is being completely taken off guard by a book. LOVE'S BEGUILING HEALER by Angela Verdenius, is a sexy fantasy that kept me turning the pages until I finished reading it. It completely surprised me because I have never heard of Angela, and also because this is the eleventh book in her Heart and Souls series and I thought for sure I was going to be lost reading it. But I was wrong, and I'm very glad of it.

LOVE'S BEGUILING HEALER only had me a bit confused in the beginning. I really thought that I was going to feel that way throughout the entire book, but once I got into a couple of chapters, I was hooked! Angela Verdenius created a fantastic fantasy world with characters that fit into it perfectly. That takes a lot for me to say because I'm not a big fan of the fantasy genre.

Let me just talk about the characters for a moment. Both of the races are very sexual in nature. And when the male goes into his sexual peak—watch out! The two main characters, Tera and Illam, are both from different races, yet have an attraction to each other that cannot be easily ignored. There is so much sexual tension between them, and the way that Verdenius describes Illam's condition after he leaves Tera's presence is just so funny! Tera and Illam are a great match and the sex between them is super hot.

The plot itself is interesting enough. When problems arise with the young of the Felys race, a scientist from the Argon race is sent to their world to try to figure out the problem. What happens when the scientist and a Felys male (Tera and Illam) submit to their attraction toward each other? Can Tera find a reason why an increasing number of the Felys young are being born runts?

The answer to these questions can be found inside the pages of Angela Verdenuis' LOVE'S BEGUILING HEALER. I loved this book and it is one that I will not hesitate to read again. It stands by itself, which at first I didn't think that it was going to. However, it is part of a series and if this book is great, I can only imagine how the other books are. I recommend reading LOVE'S BEGUILING HEALER, and even if you're not a fan of fantasy romance, I think you will really like this book nevertheless.
