Miracles by Julie Marshall

For the devout members of Lydia Chandler’s prayer group, faith provides a shining light through even the darkest times. George Taylor is given the grace to face his cancer and leave a lasting memorial. Jim Hunt is granted the wisdom to turn away from the temptations of alcohol and peer pressure. And for lovely Lydia, who refuses to despair in the ugly side of life that her reporting often uncovers, there is an earthly love to bring laughter and joy to all of her days.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

After reading the inspirational novel by Julie Marshall (a.k.a. Bobbi Smith) MIRACLES, I had to really think about how I was going to review her book. I could just simply say that it was about the good and bad in life and how trusting in God will help you get through it. But MIRACLES is much more than that, all because of one character—the terminally ill cancer patient, George. It was through his selfless giving and love that made MIRACLES a Top Pick Read for me. We learn through him that believing in God and helping others when we can gives our life meaning. George, what a great character!

MIRACLES has other memorable characters. From the boy who has to learn to not give in to peer pressure and believe in himself, to the police officer who eventually learns to put his trust in God again. Finally, there's the newspaper journalist who finds love and the strength to report about the positive news, instead of always the accidents and deaths. In the end, each of Miss Marshall's characters has learned a valuable lesson about life. Lessons that I'm sure I could try to apply to my own life.

I would recommend reading Julie Marshall's MIRACLES. It truly was an inspirational book that had a satisfying, feel good ending!
