SAVAGE ARROW is the next book in Cassie Edwards' Savage series. Cassie Edwards' fans know that each Savage book centers around a specific Indian tribe—this time, it is the Sioux Indians. SAVAGE ARROW contains all the elements that Cassie Edwards' fans have come to know and love: a handsome Indian, a beautiful woman, romance, passion and danger! SAVAGE ARROW is the story of Sioux Indian Chief Thunder Horse and down-on-her-luck Jessie Pilson. Jessie Pilson is your typical heroine in need. She leaves Kansas after her husband's death to live with her cousin, Reginald, in Arizona, since she has no other living relatives to take her in. On her journey, her coach is attacked by bandits and sent careening through the wilds of the Arizona desert. Luckily for her, Thunder Horse was there to rescue her before her carriage would have been sent spiraling down a cliff. From that first meeting, they are instantly attracted to each other. Thunder Horse can't seem to get Jessie out of his mind, and what's more bothersome is why she is living with his enemy, Reginald. Reginald and the Sioux Indians have much hate between them. Soon, Jessie realizes what a horrible man her cousin really is, and runs away from his home in the thick of the night to find Thunder Horse and hopefully stay with him until she can figure what to do with her life—and the life of her unborn baby. When Thunder Horse takes her in, she becomes his woman, but the shadow of her cousin and what he has done to the Sioux haunts both of their dreams. Something must be done to this man, and only then can the Sioux rest in peace. SAVAGE ARROW was just an okay read for me, but fans of Cassie Edwards will probably love it, nonetheless. There's plenty of romance and passion between Thunder Horse and Jessie. The secondary characters are interesting enough and have their fill of danger, too. As always, Cassie Edwards slips in Indian history throughout SAVAGE ARROW as she does in all of her Savage books. For fans of the Savage series, I'm sure you will enjoy SAVAGE ARROW.
