RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:
In SUITE FANTASY, Janice Maynard gives us the story of a little private getaway for anyone wanting to spice up their love life or just have a little fun. The name of the hotel itself, The Scimitar, is sexy and elusive.
In the first story, Suite Seduction, quiet, demure Katie Spencer is determined to get her boyfriend, Dylan, to look at her in a different light. She wants to show him her bad girl side and get it out in the open, once and for all. Suite Seduction is the sexiest of all three stories and had my glasses fogging up from one page to the next! Will Dylan go for her wild girl act at The Scimitar?
In Suite Surrender, Shelli Richards is trying to stay calm and level headed when she is stuck at The Scimitar with her gorgeous employee, Tyler, during a snowstorm. Naturally, the utilities, including the heat, have gone out, so Tyler and Shelli end up sharing a bed, all in the name of staying warm. Slowly, but surely, a tension begins to build between these two characters that becomes almost unbearable, but Tyler is her employee and that would just be wrong. Wouldn't it?
Suite Revenge was the third story in the trilogy and my least favorite. It was a very nicely written story, but Ms. Maynard fell back on the sister-of-the-best-friend plot with it, and this is just overdone to me. The only difference in this little novella is that Emily is the one pursuing Luke. She just wants one night with him to prove that all her lustful feelings toward him years before, were nothing more than a girlish fantasy.
Ms. Maynard is a terrific writer. Her writing is smooth and easy to read, giving the reader a big story in each little novella so that you feel like you've read a full-length novel at the end of each one. Definitely a force to be reckoned with, I will definitely be looking for more of Ms. Maynard's books.
