DANGEROUS TIDES is part of the Charmed-like witchy Drake Sisters series. Like the books preceding it, this one involves one of the sisters finding her true love while fighting off those that may expose or take advantage of the sister's gifts.

Since the hero in DANGEROUS TIDES is as brainy and alpha as you can get, I love him! He has no social skills and gives backhanded compliments at every turn. In other words, he is completely hot and makes the whole book worth reading. He is in need of that feminine touch to turn him into a charmer, but still let him keep his uncouth edge. His complete arrogance is tempered by his belief that no one could love someone as screwed up as he is. Enter the heroine, a subdued but still feisty compliment to his he-man ways.

The plot is just okay. It's easy to know what is going on almost from the beginning, but it doesn't spoil the ride. The characters are still fun and endearing so it's okay to see how they will react to the situations surrounding them. The writing is as magnetic as all Feehan's work is, so despite the plot being lukewarm, the writing spices it up just like the characters do.

If you enjoy the Drake Sisters series you will no doubt be happy spending the day with this one.
