HUNTING THE HUNTER Author: Shiloh Walker ISBN: 0425211002 7/2006 PARANORMAL Publisher: BERKELY SENSATION
Kane Winter is on a mission to find the woman who is responsible for his best friend's death. He has been tracking her for two years and wants his answers or her dead—it really doesn't matter to him as long as he finds out what happened to Duke. He doesn't know what exactly happened that night, but what he does know is that he will kill every last vampire he comes in contact with until he finds her. Kane is the epitome of sex. It drips off of this man with every word he utters. He is cocky, arrogant and has confidence radiating off of him in rays. Even though he is only human, he is sure enough of his own abilities to take on any number of immortal beings at the risk of his own life, time and again. Kendall is a Hunter, not necessarily a killer. While Kane has his mind wrapped very loosely around the events of Duke's death, he is fuzzy about how it all happened. He doesn't realize that Kendall is one of the good guys. She is sent to save people like him and Duke, not hurt them. Kendall is fully aware of her powers and has no problem using them if they will help to save an innocent person. Kendall's powers are very closely tied to her sexuality. Exactly how seductive she can be at times has a definite effect on Kane. It isn't long before we see his animal magnetism and her blatant sensuality making them tangle together in a way that has nothing to do with immortals or humans and the war that is going on around them. The sex in this book is amazing. When Kane and Kendall are together it is explosive, giving new meaning to the term "erotic fiction". Shiloh Walker is obviously a very gifted and successful author without my praise, but she is getting it nonetheless. Her use of imagination, not to mention spellbinding scenarios and characters, shows the depth of writing she is capable of. I highly recommend this book for any paranormal lover looking for something great to read. My only caution: You will get hooked! Kristal Gorman |
