Known as the Somerton heiress, Cameron is wary, because her life has been marred by tragedy. Determined to silence the whispers—and end the nightmares—that haunt her, she must uncover the secrets of her past... And then the heiress meets a stranger. With the air of a hunter, big, hard-looking Hayden Olson moves in next door. Has this man been sent to harm her?
On a mission to clear his father's name, Hayden was once the Somerton gardener's son—and young Cammie's cherished playmate—and now she's the key to the answers he seeks. But Hayden hadn't expected the heiress's fiery sensuality or his fascination with her. In his arms, Cameron finds unexpected safety and a unique challenge. But can she trust him with her body and not her heart?
When the hunter and the heiress become uneasy lovers, a dormant evil stirs—one that believes murder is a small price to pay to keep the secrets of the past buried. But whoever is out to harm Cammie hasn't counted on her strength...or Hayden's determination to protect her—at all cost! |
RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:
Boy, am I glad SILENCE THE WHISPERS is finally silent! I do not care for this one at all. It is predictable, boring, long-winded, and strange. That's just the mystery/plot part of it—don't get me started on the romantic aspect of it.
I want this review to be short because I really thought I would never finish this one. Well, that, and I don't want to offend the author too much. To sum it up, the mystery and surrounding plot is easily figured out, the way the characters interact—especially the hero and heroine—is bizarre at best, and the ending is just too simple for such nasty villains. Especially when their relationship with the heroine has been so complex throughout the book.
Anyway, I guess you can tell that this one is not on my keeper list.
