Burning Tigress by Jade Lee

Charlotte Wicks wanted more. Running her parents' Shanghai household and caring for her sick brother was necessary drudgery, but a true 19th-century woman deserved something deeper; her body cried out for it! Through the Taoist method, her friend Joanna Crane had reached Heaven on Earth, become a Tigress, found true bliss. Why should Charlotte be denied the same? She'd seen the scrolls. All she needed was guidance.

Her mother would call her wanton. Wicked. She would label Charlotte's curiosity evil, and invoke divine judgment. Certainly the teacher Charlotte desired was fearsome. Glimpses of his body inspired awe: flutters in the stomach and tingling in her core. And with the dark command she saw in his eyes, if she opened this door it might never be closed. The man had a reputation among the females of the city as a ruthless seducer…but also as a bringer of great pleasure. There was only one choice to make.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

BURNING TIGRESS is the next book in Jade Lee's Tigress series. BURNING TIGRESS can stand by itself, which is good because I thought this book was much easier to understand than the others. I have read the previous books, and I thought they were a bit confusing at first. However, BURNING TIGRESS is different. Jade Lee, whether she did it purposely or not, really explained the Tiger, Dragon, Heaven and Immortality in this book. So much so that I thoroughly enjoyed reading BURNING TIGRESS and would definitely recommend it. It is a very sensual and very erotic read; not only that, BURNING TIGRESS is a heart wrenching love story between two people from different cultures who love each other despite their customs and family disapproval in turn-of-the-century Shanghai, China.

Jade Lee is at the top of her game with BURNING TIGRESS. For an erotic novel, the sex scenes are beautifully written, almost to the point of being poetic. Ken Jin and Charlotte compliment each other so well in this story that you can plainly see that without the other, neither can survive. Their relationship is stormy to begin with; there are too many obstacles that they have to overcome before they can be together. Ken Jin, especially. He needs to accept the hurt in his past so that he may open up himself to a future with Charlotte. Charlotte has lost everything to be with him, and she knows that it is only through her that Ken Jin can be whole again. For a change it is the heroine in the story that is the savior.

BURNING TIGRESS will ignite a flame in your body! If you haven't read any of Jade Lee's previous books, I would say this is the book to start with. If you have read them, then don't miss out on reading BURNING TIGRESS.
