For My Lady's Honor

'Twas the fate of women to be at the mercy of men.

But Lady Alys Delamare, an unwilling sacrifice to her father's ambitions, yearned for a life of her own choosing. And such a life, her rebellious heart proclaimed, included the handsome knight Sir Padrig ap Huw....

Thrown together by a stormy tempest, they were drawn to each other—wild and wanton and burning with desire. But Lady Alys was destined for much grander things than a landless knight such as he could ever provide. All he could offer was his protection, his honor—and his passion!

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

FOR MY LADY'S HONOR is a wonderful, sweeping tale of love that wraps you up and takes you away to another time and place. Padrig and Alys are a wonderful couple, who I thoroughly loved by the end of the book. Their story captivates and kept me on the pins and needles.

Padrig is a knight like no other, ready to defend Alys at any cost. He is handsome, charming and daring, and had Alys in knots before the end of the first page. He is also wonderful at comforting Alys when she is distraught or hurt, even though he knows that he should not get too close to her.

Alys is beautiful and brave, entirely worthy of a man like Padrig, even though he cannot fathom how she could want to be with someone who is so beneath her station. I thought that her resilience was her most rewarding trait. She was not afraid to try new things, and I like to think that she had a mischievous side to her, as well. I felt for her trying to take control of her life in a man's world.

Sharon Schulze writes beautifully, and even though this is the sixth book in a series, I was able to read this book alone without any confusion. FOR MY LADY'S HONOR is a well written, beautiful story of love and life, and one that will go on my keeper shelf.
