Megan's Mark by Lora Leigh

Cursed with the extraordinary power to feel other peoples' emotions, Megan Fields has tucked herself away in a remote corner of New Mexico, working as a small-town sheriff's deputy. She finds solace in the silence and heat of the desert. But when Breeds begin dying on her watch, Megan realizes that the secrets from her past can't stay buried forever. Someone is out for blood—her blood.

An arrogant Feline Breed, Braden Arness broods with feral intensity. His mission to solve the mysterious murders brings him to Megan, a woman who accosts his senses like no other. Only with him can she let down her guard—and surrender to the insatiable hunger that wracks her body. But as they team up to hunt the elusive killers, Braden and Megan find themselves becoming the prey...

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

Wow, porn with plot. That is unheard of, I know, but in my opinion that is what Lora Leigh has written with MEGAN'S MARK. Thank goodness it's an excellent plot and she is an excellent writer, or this one could be tossed aside. It also helps that the erotica sex does not happen until later in the book. It's easier to be suckered in that way!

There are some great characters in MEGAN'S MARK. Some unforgettable ones, actually. Their stories are tragic and touching, and they themselves are strong and unique. It's an interesting group, to say the least, and the hero and heroine are just the tip of the iceberg in a pool of cool new characters. I hope their stories will do them justice.

I don't want to distract you too much by complaining about the depth of the sexual, uh, activities, and explicit language, because truly the story is a good one. Yes, it's a bit raunchy and downright dirty at times, so you may be in for a few heart palpitations. But, all the heat is contained between the hero and the heroine so at least there are no orgies involved. And let's face it, if it's too hot for you, you can always skip those pages!
