Dark Celebration by Christine Feehan

After centuries as the Prince of the Carpathians Mikhail Dubrinsky fears he can’t protect them for long from their greatest threat: the extinction of their species—a fate that has become the wicked prayer of his enemies. To ensure it, they are devising a scheme to slaughter Carpathian females. But even with his own lifemate, Raven, and their daughter, Savannah, vulnerable to the encroaching evil, Mikhail's hope is not lost...

In this desperate season, Carpathians from around the world are gathering to join their strengths, their souls, and their powers to bring light to the darkness. But so too are their adversaries uniting—hunters, vampires, demons, and betrayers—bringing untold dangers into the fold of the Carpathian people.

Now for the first time, borne from the uninhibited imagination of Christine Feehan, all the inhabitants of Carpathian legend are reunited for a celebration of sensual adventure, undying passion, and astonishing fantasy—one to remember for a thousand lifetimes.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

All right. Since DARK CELEBRATION is really good, I think I can confess that lately I have been somewhat burned out with the Carpathian Feehan works. NOT that I didn't enjoy them. They were just beginning to be the "same," if you know what I mean. Anyway, I enjoyed the you-know-what out of this one so I never truly left the bandwagon!

I am so glad Feehan decided to get all of my favorite Carpathians together. I am even more excited by the fact that she did it so well. I imagine having all the dominating males in one story made it difficult to do, but this one is one of the best in the series. Keep in mind that when she expresses in her "letter to readers" that despite the title the book is dark, it's DARK. At times overwhelming so, but hey, I like it anyway.

My complaint, and naturally I have a small one, is that I have to wait for the next one to see how things turn out for Skyler. Her story intrigues me like Gregori's did (He is my favorite and just as hot as ever in Dark Celebration), so I will be looking for that release. Until then, thanks for the party, Ms. Feehan!
