Corpse Whisperer by Chris Redding

Grace Harmony is on the cusp of her thirtieth birthday and about to lose her power to talk to murder victims. She’s happy to lose her gift until she doesn’t solve a murder and must rewind in time again. And again. Each time she lands back in time, she’s closer to her birthday and the stakes have been raised. And each time her relationship with the Zach Holten begins from scratch.

Being able to talk to the dead has never been so important. For the first time in her life, Grace may regret not being able to help dead people.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

The title, THE CORPSE WHISPERER, is not the most appealing and I was a bit apprehensive about what I was reading. This is a paranormal mystery about Grace, a lady who has a talent for touching the corpse of an individual who has been murdered, which takes her back to the scene prior to the incident and able to stop the murder. Grace has inherited this talent from her mother, who lost her talent at the age of 30. This story adds a touch of mystery when Grace can't stop the murder of a lady named Delores. Grace touches the body repeatedly, but circumstances change each time she does and prevents her from changing the outcome. To add a touch of mystery, Grace falls for Zack, who can't remember her each time she attempts to prevent Delores's murder.

I was lost by the second chapter of this novel. I did finally finish this book with a ton of effort. I am not sure if the title put me off, or if the entire plot was confusing. Grace was a well written character, but if you add in the rest of the plot, you have chaos. I became frustrated while reading this book because I felt that it was redundant after several chapters. I think THE CORPSE WHISPERER might have been better if the title would be changed and the plot planned better. If I were to run across this novel on my own, honestly, I would be put off by the title alone.
