IN MY WILD DREAM Author: Sasha Lord ISBN: 0451220641 2/2007 HISTORICAL Publisher: NAL/Signet
At the beginning of IN MY WILD DREAM, Kassandra is a beautiful, innocent child of a character who dreams of her love and is determined to find him and save him from a horrible fate. She has grown up knowing that she is fey and is just as at home on a bed of moss on the forest floor as we would be on our living room couch. She decides that she is going to go and find her man, and nothing is going to stop her. The problem is that it isn't as easy as she thought it would be, and once she finds him, he wants nothing to do with her. Cadedryn has got one thing on his mind, and that is to restore honor to his family. Pitting himself against an insolent child who acts irrationally and spews unnatural things out of her mouth is the last thing he needs to be doing—and yet he is. For this "child" is a beautiful woman inside and out, and Cadedryn finds himself drawn to her and wanting to protect her at all costs. The costs to himself and his future could be very high, and yet he cannot seem to help himself. This story is the stuff that fantasies are made of. Kassandra blossoms from a young, naive girl to a beautiful woman right before our eyes, and it is all because of Cadedryn's love... or should I say, lack of it. For Cadedryn tries with everything in his power to deny his feelings; he puts up one heck of a fight. But, where true love is concerned, his fight does not ever really matter. IN MY WILD DREAM is absolutely the stuff that dreams are made of. Sasha Lord is fast becoming a favorite of mine. I am left completely tongue tied about this book. This review certainly doesn't do it the justice that it deserves. It is simply almost too good to put into words. I felt every single emotion that I own while reading IN MY WILD DREAM, and am not ashamed to say that I shed a few good tears over this wonderful novel. Kristal Gorman |
