Moon Awakening by Lucy Monroe

When Emily Hamilton's family is ordered to send a woman to the Scottish Highlands for marriage to the laird of the Sinclair, Emily volunteers in order to save her younger sister from such a fate. But at her new home, the only friend she finds is the laird's sister—especially after Emily's stubborn streak causes the laird to cancel the marriage. And though her plans have gone awry, she refuses to return home...

Lachlan Balmoral is laird of his clan—and leader of his pack. One of the most feared werewolves prowling the Highlands, he is on the march against the hated Sinclairs, who have abducted a Balmoral woman. He kidnaps the sister of the Sinclair laird, planning to marry her off in revenge—but the woman he takes along with her proves to be the greater prize...

For Emily feeds a desire he never knew existed. And though Lachlan would not think of marrying a human—an English woman at that—he must know how a mere woman could tame his heart so easily...

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

Lucy Monroe is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her new release, MOON AWAKENING, is absolutely awesome! It is the first book in her new paranormal series called Children of the Moon. Monroe opens this series with a BANG! MOON AWAKENING is a fast-paced, exciting paranormal that you can't put down. I should know, because I stayed awake until the wee hours of the morning reading it. It is just that good!

I'm familiar with Lucy Monroe. Her stories are riveting and she adds a special touch to her characters, so it was no surprise to me how beautifully written MOON AWAKENING is. The story takes off as soon as you open the pages of the book, when the characters are introduced and then the drama and passion take flight!

MOON AWAKENING tells the story Emily Hamilton and Lachlan, Laird of the Balmoral Clan (and leader of his wolf pack). Emily unselfishly offers herself to wed Talorc, the Sinclair Laird, in place of her deaf sister. Once Emily reaches the Laird's keep, she quickly realizes that she is an unwelcome guest, especially to her betrothed. Lucky for her, she makes friends with Talorc's sister, Cait, and soon they form a tight bond.

When Emily and Cait go bathing at the loch, Lachlan and his soldiers kidnap them as retribution for a kidnapping of one of their females. Cait finds herself trying to ward off the advances from a soldier, while Emily tries to find a way to get Cait back to the safety of her keep. However, she doesn't expect to become infatuated with Lachlan and be glad for her kidnapping.

I did mention that this is a paranormal, right? Now here comes the exciting part of the story! Talorc, Cait, Lachlan and some of the remaining clansman are changelings. They're wolves! Emily doesn't know—yet! And I do believe that I am going to end my brief summary of MOON AWAKENING right at this point.

If you love paranormals, then this book is definitely for you! I loved everything about: the characters, the setting, the changing, the plot, and the back-story. Lucy Monroe wrote a real winner!

Do I suggest you run out to the bookstore and get your copy of MOON AWAKENING? MOST DEFINETLY!
