McKettrick's Luck by Linda Lael Miller

Like his celebrated ancestors who tamed the wilds of Arizona, Jesse McKettrick's Indian Rock ties run deep. the Triple M. Ranch is in his blood, along with the thrill of risk. But with his hand at stake, Jesse won't get involved in Cheyenne Bridges' scheme—despite the temptation she brings.

Cheyenne grew up in Indian Rock and left its painful memories behind to become a self-made woman. Now her job is to convince Jessie to sell his property. Jessie's not the kind of man Cheyenne could ever forget, but he's too wild and dangerous for a woman committed to playing it safe. Yet sparks of attraction fly, tempting Cheyenne to lay it all on the line for the passion she sees in Jesse's eyes.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

Ok, so I have totally read my review books out of order, just so that I could get to this book. To say MCKETTRICK'S LUCK is the best I have read all year would be silly, since it is only the 22nd of January, but it will more than likely be right up there for the remainder. I can't see how anyone could beat this one. It is just that good!

Linda Lael Miller takes us back to the Triple M ranch with Jesse "I am too hot for words" McKettrick and Cheyenne Bridges. They make the perfect couple, Cheyenne with her broken dreams and Jesse with his lonely heart. Cheyenne thinks that she is back in Indian Rock for one thing, and that is to get Jesse to sell his land. But, everyone, besides her, knows that there is more to her homecoming than just that. For years, Cheyenne was in love with a man that she thought never knew she existed. When she left town brokenhearted and determined to put him from her mind, she never dreamed that she would be back one day.

Jesse sure does remember Cheyenne Bridges from high school. They went on a couple of dates together and then she left town to attend college and get herself a high-powered job. When she comes back to town, Jesse knows he is in trouble because this is the first person to ever make him sweat in all of his long years of loving women. Jesse is hardheaded and the perfect savior—one that Cheyenne doesn't even know that she needs.

Along with the great romance that is brewing between Jesse and Cheyenne, we get a wonderful taste of the history of the Triple M ranch and all of the ancestors that have lived there in times long past. We get to revisit old friends, but now the Triple M is filled with an entirely new generation of Mckettricks. Needless to say, this was an absolute recipe for success. I couldn't have asked for more in a book. Linda Lael Miller is an author that never disappoints me and I know that every time I pick up one of her books, I am going to be enthralled from start to finish.
