Bustin' by Minda Webber

Who's she gonna call?

Forget everything you think you know about werewolves and vampires, boggiemen and Bogeys. There's something strange in the neighborhood, and Sam Hammett's not going to call anyone. Her family runs their own paranormal investigation and elimination business—Paranormal Pest Pursuers, Inc.—unrivalled by anyone except Monsters "R Us, their new competitors recently arrived from Russia. And from the look of that crew, and Nicolas Strakhov, their boss, the war to come will be anything but cold. Luckily, business is booming, what with Andy the soup-can painting phantom, and the strange creature stoning New York, so Sam'll soon be bustin' up, bustin' down—bustin' every which way but loose. And there's the ghost of a chance she'll fall in love, too.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

These lighthearted, humorous, paranormal reads are hit or miss with me. And while some of BUSTIN' gives me a chuckle, too much of the outlandish paranormal makes me roll my eyes at its over-the-top antics.

You know how too many cooks spoil the soup? Well, too many crazy scenes and silly dialogue spoil a book. There are so many zany pranks, weird subplots, puns and imitations going on in this one, that I find the hero and heroine to be lost amongst everything else. Yes, I admit that the author has one of the best senses of humor and imagination out there, but she crams all of her talent for making up weird creatures into this one book. It is a fun, silly read, but not really much of a romance. If there is a cliche you need to find, you can find it here.

I want to read more Minda Webber tales because I honestly like her style, her flare for creating strange scenes, and find her humor to be spot on. I just wish she would not be so intense on those things and focus on the couple getting together more.
