RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

Sebastian Caine is one hot hubba-hubba. Okay, so he is a thief by occupation and he has been commissioned to steal something very important from a very rich man. But when he gets to the house, he sees that his "job" has been found out and someone else has beat him to it. Not only has a man been murdered, but also the suspect is out there somewhere with a very valuable manuscript called the Cinchona. Sebastian's search leads him to the very beautiful Katelyn Lyda, who just happens to be a wildcat and is holding a gun to the back of his head.

Katelyn Lyda knows that she is in way over her head. She has come to visit her uncle, only to find that he has been murdered for a manuscript that is very old and of much value. When she runs with the manuscript she is scared to death, especially when she realizes that she has been followed. So, what is a girl to do? She gets out her gun and protects herself in the only way that she knows how—by taking down that gorgeous man and hoping for the best. I totally have to admire her chops on this one, because I would have run for the hills—manuscript or not. I am just a big ol' chicken in that regard.

When Sebastian and Katelyn partner up to try and figure out what in the heck is going on, they get much more than they ever thought they would. Not only is the Cinchona steeped in a fabulous history and mystery that will keep them on their toes, but also there is an unmistakable chemistry between them, that, try as they might, they cannot keep at bay.

I love Selena Montgomery's writing. Her story flows beautifully with a wonderful sense of mystery and intrigue, the dialogue is brilliant and the sparks between Sebastian and Kat are sensational. SECRETS AND LIES is the first of many books that I hope to read by Selena Montgomery.
