The Reinvented Miss Bluebeard

When your father is not only an infamous pirate but the husband of six vanished wives, respectability’s hard to come by. That’s why Eve invented herself a husband. How else was a nineteenth-century gal to follow her dreams and become one of those newfangled psychiatrists? Certainly she's never be running The Towers, London’s preeminent asylum for potty paranormals. She wouldn't be seeing famous outpatients such as Frederick Frankenstein (he has a screw loose) and treating Jane Van Helsing's blood phobia. But now, wackier than the werewolves and loonier than the leprechaun she’s already treating, something new is taking shape—and he has the name of her never-before-seen husband and a body to drive a girl absolutely batty...

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: 4 Rose Read

Minda Webber's new release, THE REINVENTED MISS BLUEBEARD, is as good as it is odd! Yes, this book is rather odd but I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is the first book that I've read by Miss Webber, but it definitely won't be the last.

What can I say? I couldn't resist this unique and charming book about psychiatrist Eve Bluebeard (Captain Bluebeard's daughter) and her asylum for the mentally insane. I should mention that some of her patients include a vampire who is claustrophobic, a man who likes to flash himself at rosebushes and a love-struck Frankenstein. It's the culmination of zany characters with an interesting plot that made me love reading every page of this book.

All Eve wants to do is treat her patients and be respected among her male peers. However, she can't be respected if her peers believe she is single and without the company of a husband. So, Eve concocts a husband and tells those who ask that he is a doctor and is away on business. Her life is running smoothly until her "husband" shows up at a very important dinner party that she is having with other professionals in her field.

Her pseudo husband has a lot of explaining to do, and all Eve can think about is making him walk the plank. Honestly, his appearance is hysterical and Eve's response is priceless! His appearance throws the asylum into a tailspin, and soon he's mingling with the patients and coming ever closer to gaining Eve's affections.

I breezed through THE REINVENTED MISS BLUEBEARD. This lighthearted paranormal is just the book for those in need of a break from those dark and brooding books on the market now. It's nice to have a little humor thrown into the mix of things.

Minda Webber caught my attention as a paranormal romance author, and her new release is a terrific read! I definitely recommend reading THE REINVENTED MISS BLUEBEARD!
