Demon Moon by Meljean Brook

No one would call vampire Colin Ames-Beaumont kind, but they would call him unnaturally beautiful. For two centuries his tainted blood has kept him isolated from other vampires, sustained only by his beauty and vanity—bitter comforts, since a curse has erased his mirror reflection, replacing it with a terrifying glimpse of Chaos.

Savi Murray's insatiable curiosity had gotten her into trouble before, but she'd always escaped unscathed. Then came Colin. In the midst of Heaven, he gave her a taste of ecstasy—and of Chaos. Deadly creatures from that realm herald the return of an imprisoned nosferatu horde, and Colin and Savi’s bond is their only protection—and their only passion…

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

Meljean Brook is definitely an author to be on the lookout for. Her paranormal series, The Guardians, encompasses everything good about the paranormal genre. Her next book in the series, DEMON MOON, is a really well written, dramatic and emotional foray into the fantasy world that she has created. What's great about this series is that you don't have to read the books in order as there's enough back-story that it's easy to follow the history of all the characters and their experiences. However, I would recommend reading DEMON ANGEL; it's another extraordinary paranormal.

You will love the romance between vampire Colin Ames-Beaumont and human Savitri Murray. Knowing Colin's background makes the depth of his emotions for Savitri even more special. In turn, knowing that Savitri accepts Colin as he is, shows the depth of her love for him, as well. I will guarantee that you will be so caught up in their love affair that during the climax of the story, you will have one hand on the book and the other holding onto a tissue! Wait until you read the final ending scenes—you may just need a whole box of tissues to get through it.

All around Colin and Savitri, a war for supreme power is brewing. I have to admit that Meljean can write some pretty harrowing scenes. It is during these scenes that her talent for writing paranormal shines through. DEMON MOON satisfies the romance reader and the paranormal reader at the same time. What more can I say? This is a great read!

Once you read DEMON MOON, you may want to go over to Meljean Brook's website and read all the behind the scenes and deleted scenes that she has on-line. There are also two novellas in her Guardians series, and I suggest you take some time and read this series starting with the short novella, Falling for Anthony from the anthology HOT SPELL, and then going right to her full-length stories. Please don't let the length of this book turn you off—you will be halfway through it before you even realize it!

I highly recommend DEMON MOON by Meljean Brook.
