GODDESS OF LOVE Author: P.C. Cast ISBN: 0425215288 6/2007 FANTASY Publisher: BERKLEY SENSATION
P. C. Cast introduces a tale where the Goddess of Love, Venus, is bored and comes to earth in search of something to end her boredom. She finds Pea Chamberlain, who, if ever there was a young lady that could use the hand of a goddess for a makeover, it is Pea! Pea is a disaster—her hair, shoes, and entire self screams Help! which does nothing to attract attention to herself from men. Venus steps in to help transform Pea—not just in her physical appearance, but also her self esteem. But, what happens when the Goddess of Love starts falling for the same fireman—Griffin—that Pea is undergoing a transformation for? Or is there someone else in the picture for Pea resulting in both women finding themselves losing their hearts? I loved this story. It is an amusing love triangle that mixes modern day culture with mythology. The end product is amusing, fast paced, and deals with some of the true aspects about the reality of love. I laughed, I cried, and I sighed while reading GODDESS OF LOVE. This is exactly what I needed to read to give my own self esteem a little bit of a boost and P.C. Cast is one of the best authors for someone needing that same thing. GODDESS OF LOVE is a great read for sitting by the pool, sipping margaritas and then passing it along to your best girlfriend!
