Safe Harbor by Christine Feehan

One of seven daughters in a line of extraordinary women, Hannah Drake has been the elusive object of affection for Jonas Harrington for as long at the young man can remember. If only the stunning super-model was driven by a passion other than her career. But Jonas isn’t the only one with desires for Hannah.

From the shadows has emerged a vengeful figure who stalks the beauty with one terrifying purpose: to strip her of all she is and destroy her. Only one man was destined as her protection. Now, out of a storm of danger, Jonas must guide the woman he loves from a sinister darkness that threatens not only Hannah, but the entire Drake family.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: 4 Rose Read

I am a devoted Christine Feehan fan, and I must say she's done it again. SAFE HARBOR is the story of Hannah Drake and Jonas Harrington. These two have shown up in previous Drake sister books, and I very much enjoyed reading their story.

SAFE HARBOR is about Jonas coming to terms with his feelings for Hannah—and his life in general, and Hannah learning what SHE really wants. Her whole life, she has always tried to please everyone else, to the point she doesn't know what she wants anymore. SAFE HARBOR delves into Hannah's life and her thoughts as she works through growing into herself. As a result of this, at times she seems almost whiney or weak, but thankfully, those times are brief. There is also enough mystery and suspense to keep you on edge until the last page.

Hannah and Jonas' story starts out with Jonas needing Hannah to save him—again—while he is in the middle of a shoot out. From there, Hannah becomes the center of the turmoil as someone targets her life, and it takes all of her family—and a few new friends—to figure out who is behind the attempts.

SAFE HARBOR brings back Illya, a shady character that everyone is unsure of, but he continues to pop up and help save the day. Illya and Joley are great secondary characters. They have great interaction and tension between them—I'm hoping theirs is the next Drake sisters' story! All of the other secondary characters are also well written into the storyline, with a great sense of family ritual and connection that I think has been present in all of the Drake sisters' stories. These connections make each story richer, but I think still enable the reader to pick up any book in the series and understand what is going on, without having to read the stories in order.

If you have enjoyed any of the Drake sister stories in the past, or any of Christine Feehan's books, I would recommend SAFE HARBOR.
