SUN, SAND, SEX Author: Linda Lael Miller, Jennifer Apodaca, Shelly Laurenston ISBN: 0758210965 6/2007 ANTHOLOGY Publisher: BRAVA
Linda Lael Miller, Jennifer Apodaca and Shelly Laurenston teamed up to bring you a super-hot, super-sexy summer anthology called SUN, SAND, SEX. It's a perfect book to take to the beach or to just relax at home during those sweltering summer days. Linda Lael Miller kicks off this anthology with her novella, One Last Weekend. Although her contribution was very predictable, it was still a great read. It told the story of Teague and Joanna Darby and their last weekend together before they go through with their divorce. Truthfully, the couple really needed to just sit down and listen to each other talk. Spending time together at their beach cottage set the stage for communication and a lot of lovemaking. What they really needed to do was learn to love each other all over again. Again, a great read; however, the plot was predictable. The next novella in SUN, SAND, SEX is You Give Love a Good Name by Jennifer Apodaca. I love this story because the plot was unique and the characters were highly combustible together. If your summer days aren't hot enough for you, read this novella and I'm sure you'll be sweating in no time! Lexie Rollins, a wedding planner who had to protect herself from a drunken groom, is on a mini vacation from all the problems that have accumulated in her life. Nick Vardolous, a bounty hunter, is out to bring Lexie back home. What they don't expect is the electrifying attraction they have for each other. This is a really sexy read and I loved it! The last story is by Shelly Laurenston called My Kind of Town. At first, I thought it was odd to have a paranormal story mixed in with two contemporaries, but it actually worked out just fine. Emma Lucchesi suddenly finds herself in Smithville, North Carolina, and recovering from a car accident. This just wasn't any car accident—a huge devil dog tried to attack her, but lucky for her the magic powers she wielded were enough to ward off the dog. Now she's not so sure who's more dangerous—Deputy Kyle Treharne or the dark force that's trying to kill her. With shape shifters and witches, you can't go wrong with this story. If you're in need of a sexy summer read, you can't go wrong with SUN, SAND, SEX! Julie Kornhausl |
