WARRIOR ANGEL Author: Margaret and Lizz Weis ISBN: 0060833254 3/2007 PARANORMAL Publisher: AVON
This one gets high marks for originality. It features a heroine who has a hellacious job as a commodities trader, which is very cool. I certainly have never read anything like it, and will say that if you are looking for something completely different to read, WARRIOR ANGEL should be on your list. Unfortunately, being original with its plot and characters is about all I can recommend about it. (There is an uplifting message, but I figure with its title, most readers will assume that.) Anyway, it's s-l-o-w. Too much watching and waiting and very little action. The characters, who should be so neat simply because the concept is, fall flat and don't connect for me at all. Two people staring at one another, thinking about one another, and having two scenes where they actually converse for more than a minute, does not a romance make. I want to like this book, I really do. But, in my quest to be honest, I have to say that what happens to a neat idea fizzles out. Shannon Johnson |
