Well, another one of my favorite historical authors has jumped on the Paranormal Express. In DARK SEDUCTION, Brenda Joyce introduces us to the Masters of Time. It is a Brotherhood of medieval hunks who can travel in time and are sworn to protect the innocent from evil.

Claire Camden owns a bookshop in Manhattan and she has done everything she can to keep herself and her books safe. Since her mother and cousin were both victims of "pleasure crimes", she has installed a state-of-the-art security system in her store and works out seven days a week, including a kick boxing class to keep her body in top shape. But when her front door gets ripped off its hinges by a woman, she realizes she is not prepared at all for the evil that is lurking outside her door.

Malcolm of Dunroch is a young Master living in 15th century Scotland, who has been battling evil since taking his vows. He must protect the innocent at all costs. But when he meets Claire, he doesn't know how he is going to keep the beautiful, stubborn young woman safe, when she will not do anything he tells her to!

DARK SEDUCTION is the first of what will surely be a fantastic series. If you are already a fan of Brenda Joyce, then I only need to say that this series has everything that has made her books bestsellers. If you are paranormal fans, then this is definitely a series to put on your must read list! Claire is definitely a kick butt type of woman that the Highland hunks are not used to, and it's loads of fun watching the power struggle.

The pleasure deaths and paranormal sex scenes took a little getting used to for me. And the fact that Claire could accept time traveling Highlanders from the 15th century, but had a hard time believing in the devil or Satan, was a little confusing for me. But other than these little glitches, DARK SEDUCTION was definitely a story that once started, I could not put down. And if the rest of the Masters of Time series has the same passion and danger as DARK SEDUCTION, I look forward to many more sleepless nights!
