Midnight Destiny by Lynde Lakes

Each minute brings the killer closer to Rick and Mele. The danger intensifies when the unpredictable spirit, Akua Lapu, captures Rick in her sights. This spirit, at midnight on misty nights, leaves Makapuu lighthouse to wander the road to seduce male drivers into changing their lives—or she ends them. Mele, an island lawyer, is powerless to resist the spirit or Rick, the desperate man driven to save his daughter at any cost. But even fear can't quench her growing attraction for this sexy stranger who tempts her with forbidden fiery kisses.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: 4 Rose Read

MIDNIGHT DESTINY has a very strange start its the story. However, if this book is going to be the beginning to Lake's career, I think that many great things are in store for her.

This is a ghost story of Akua Lapu, a ghost that few people have witnessed, including the main characters, Rick and Mele. Rick is an FBI agent who is deep in the middle of a case when he literally runs into Mele. She quickly becomes a part of his case as the two try to solve the mystery of the Akua ghost and save Rick's daughter in race to the finish line.

This novel is a page turner, despite its being so short. Lake pulls the reader through a plot filled with criminals, good guys and ghosts. The characters are full of visual clarity and race towards a happy ending, despite what hurdles that they have to overcome. My only complaint is that this e-novel is WAY too short; it could have been expanded into a full length novel to give the reader much more mystery and drama.
