In a futuristic world, society has changed-drastically. Yet some things, such as murder, oppressive governments and criminals, remain. Fortunately, there are those who recognize the need for people who are willing to put their own lives on the line in order to bring justice to the the repressed. Aedon Rawn is one of those willing to do whatever it takes to right the wrongs of the world, as well as settle a personal score. When he meets Kala, a woman whose life has been a continuous struggle for as long as she can remember, something inside him changes. He begins to heal. Kala starts to trust Aedon, something she's not accustomed to doing.

TRUE DECEPTION by Patricia Waddell is an excellent book, one that brings the heart and soul of present-day romance into the future. It is not the type of book that I usually read and when I first opened the cover, I wondered if I would enjoy this futuristic story. Enjoy it I did-fully. Ms. Waddell tells a good story, filled with intricate details and intriguing plot twists. Intertwined with the avenging, emotionally scarred widower paired with a fragile, yet steely-nerved heroine there is a gripping, tender love story. The characters fairly leap from the pages and the plot hums along. Fans of this type of romance will love this. Those who don't usually read futuristic paranormal books may find a new author to put on their must-buy list. I know I did!
