A Match Made by Magic

Jade Delarue is determined to find the man of her dreams, so the sexy witch casts a spell that brings a gorgeous man to her door. But private detective Mason Kincaid isn't looking for love. Jilted by his last girlfriend, Mason's thrown himself into his work. He's visiting Jade on official business, and not even the blizzard raging outside her house—or her spellbinding beauty—can distract him.

Then Jade realizes the mistake she's made in her spell, and she wants him gone. But there are charms to spare in Mystic Manor, showing Mason that the witch in the house might be the woman he's been waiting for. Convincing her, though, means coming up with a little magic of his own.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:

Bright and breezy, the humor-filled WITCH IN THE HOUSE is lighthearted, sexy entertainment. The first in Ms. McKnight's widowed (or are they?) witches trilogy is sure to hook readers with two nifty lead characters and a host of engaging secondary characters caught in the midst of a clever little mystery.

A great deal of WITCH IN THE HOUSE's charm lies with the lead couple, Jade Delarue and Mason Kincaid. These two nicely tuned characters share an almost instant attraction upon meeting, and the sizzle factor goes up several notches as the story progresses. WITCH IN THE HOUSE practically oozes sexual tension... and some steamy love scenes.

As for the mystery element, well, Ms. McKnight does a credible job keeping a reader engaged by prolonging the case of the disappearing husbands. Apparently the fate of the three witches' husbands, who vanished together one day six years before, will not be disclosed until the last book in the trilogy. Personally, I would like to have had a little clue (even a wee one) into the three men's fate, but alas, it seems Ms. McKnight has other ideas.

WITCH IN THE HOUSE is a cute story, maybe not laugh-out-loud, but funny enough to put a smile on your face and some fuzzy feelings in your heart.
