The Belle on the Bend resort, owned by Isabelle "Belle" Patricelli, serves as a getaway for couples who might need to spend time together or singles who just need some time away from their busy everyday life. Yet, one thing all guests at Belle on the Bend have in common is a search for missing passion in their lives. And luckily, they have come to just the right place to fall under SEDUCTION'S SPELL. Though the back cover blurb reads that the book is about three couples, really it is about four: Maggie and Isaac, Yvonne and Dolan, Vince and Sara, and Belle and Mitch. Maggie and Isaac have been married for years, but Isaac spends his time between working and having fun with their two boys with no time left for his wife. Will a week away be able to save their marriage? And will the two be able to rekindle the passion that once set them both on fire? Supermodel Yvonne comes to the resort to get some time alone. She has found sex to be a bore, not being able to reach the big O with a lover. But when she meets Dolan, the maintenance man, and sparks fly, Yvonne is ready to take another chance on finding her release. Yet, Dolan wants nothing to do with Yvonne, so the chase is on. Will she be able to catch her man? And will he be able to give her body what it has been missing for so long? Vince is a football star who wants to win back the love of his ex-wife Sara, and Belle on the Bend provides a sultry backdrop for his own planned seduction. But will it be enough to get these two back together in a hot, fiery romance? Or will Sara walk away when their time together at the resort has ended? And finally, Belle herself finds a new suitor in travel reporter Mitch, who is at Belle on the Bend to write about the resort. The attraction between them is undeniable, but what will Mitch think when he finds out Bella's secret? And more importantly, will it keep him away from her luscious body? I really enjoyed SEDUCTION'S SPELL for the fact that it was a novel that had many different characters, with each couple's story dedicated to them alone, but also part of the bigger picture. The romance between all the couples is definitely steamy (probably why I liked it so much, truth be told), so fans that are faint of heart may want to skip this one—it is definitely a scorcher! Added to the novel were descriptions of the beautiful Texas countryside and the actual house that holds the Belle on the Bend resort. The house itself is an antique having been built in the 15th century, and as the reader learns, has a very special place in the owner's heart. I didn't find that either of those aspects of the book took away from the main focus of each of the four couples trying to connect or reconnect, as it were. Readers that enjoy sexy, erotic romances will definitely not want to miss out on Lynn LaFleur's SEDUCTION's SPELL! Maame Kanbi |
