A Stranger's Touch by Cait London

Tempest was born with the uncanny ability to learn everything about an object—or even a person just by the touch of her naked hands. But she knows this gift comes at a price, so she protects herself by keeping those she loves at a distance, But when a sinister enemy threatens all that she holds dear, Tempest is forced to reach out to Marcus Greystone, who she once touched willingly... and with passionate abandon.

Marcus has never forgotten the sensuous night he and Tempest shared—before she left his bed without a word. Now that she needs his help, Marcus isn't letting her go easily. It's his chance to show Tempest that his touch can also electrify. But a gathering storm of violence is following Tempest, and a killer waits to get his hands on her ...

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: Top Pick

Having read the first in this trilogy about three sisters that each have paranormal abilities, I was very intrigued to see how Cait London was going to handle the story of this second sister. Tempest was the sister that I imagined would be the most challenging to write about because of her inability to touch with her bare hands. I think of touch as how we associate all those things that we are feeling into a physical act. But with Tempest, the fact that she CAN'T touch makes it so much steamier, so much more intense—I thought I was going to combust at any moment!

Tempest doesn't not want to touch, she just cannot because she can feel the history of an object that she touches with her bare hands and it becomes overwhelming, and even painful for her. Throughout the entire book, one of the only things that Marcus wants is Tempest's hands on him... and when she does, well, let me just say that it brought tears to my eyes.

Tempest is a wonderfully complex character. She is just perfect for Marcus in every way. She is not the type of person that will take anybody's crap—she's very assertive and sure of herself. And when she wants a brooch that she knows will help to protect her family and everything that they stand for, she goes and gets it. Even if that means scaling a building and confronting the one man she never thought she would see again to do it.

Marcus is so used to being the Alpha male, he has his life all worked out, just the way he likes it. Suddenly a blast from his recent past comes barreling back into his life like a wildfire, consuming everything in his orderly existence. Tempest is the one person that he wants bad enough that he will bribe her to get his way, but she is also the person that makes him question everything that he knows and trusts. Both of these characters are so sure of themselves—almost to the point of cockiness. They are also both successful, beautiful, and brilliant personalities separately, but when they are put together, they are phenomenal.

I was literally addicted to A STRANGER'S TOUCH. I did not put it down a single time while I was reading—I simply couldn't, even if I had wanted to, which I didn't. Cait London has outdone herself with this latest book. This trilogy seems to only be getting better, and I cannot wait until the third installment comes out!
