Morning Light by Catherine Anderson

Born with second sight, Loni MacEwen has vowed to ignore the visions that have brought her so much heartbreak. Then she meets Clint Harrigan and realizes she has no choice but to warn the handsome cowboy that his son is in danger.

A hardworking, no-nonsense rancher, Clint doesn't believe the pretty stranger—especially since he doesn't even have a son. But then he sees the drama Loni predicted unfolding on the local news. An orphaned boy is lost in the dense Oregon wilderness, and according to Loni, only Clint can save him.

Loni and Clint rush into the woods to find the lost boy. As long nights follow exhausting days, their feelings grow stronger, and what began as a race against time becomes a shared journey of trust, understanding, and unexpected love....

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS: Top Pick

MORNING LIGHT by Catherine Anderson is the first book I've read by this author, but I assure you it won't be the last. MORNING LIGHT is the second in what appears to be a five-book series, and after I read this author's backlist I'm going to try and wait patiently for the next book to be released. It won't be easy, but I'm going to try and reign in my anticipation!

Loni is born with the gift of second sight. Sometimes a gift can be a burden, as Loni knows full well. After surviving past heartache where her so-called gift is concerned, she decides to try her best to ignore the visions that come to her. Her plan seems to be working until she sees a young boy in the wilderness. That vision cancels any promises she's made to herself, and she and a handsome cowboy become an unlikely pair of heroes.

This story is so well told it gripped me from the opening. I was spellbound instantly, and as the story unfolded I was even more caught up in it. Ms. Anderson is the type of author who pays attention to details. The sound of wolves in the night, the exact coloring of horses and shades of eyes, as well as the nuances of her characters' language-all these things add a layer of substance to this story. It makes it leap from the page and into the reader's mind.

Catherine Anderson is an expert storyteller and MORNING LIGHT is one book that I will read time and again.
