TJ Grier has always been one of the C Bar C’s best cowboys, but one horrible night destroys all he’s ever known.

Desperate to prove his innocence, he steals Callie Mae away, and together they plunge into danger to solve the secret that has torn them apart.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:Top Pick

Pam Crooks has done it again! KIDNAPPED BY THE COWBOY is one of those stories that reminds me why I love this time period. Characters who leap from the page, edge-of-your-seat adventure and a heartwarming romance make this book a knockout. This is the reason I read western historicals—for the chance to fall into the past and live in the Wild West, if only for a few glorious hours.

Callie Mae and TJ seem made for each other, but a tragedy and its fallout tear them apart. When Callie Mae rides back into TJ's life, he knows he must make her see the truth regardless of the repercussions. His future, in the sleek form of a race horse, throws them together when the animal runs off and TJ demands Callie Mae help him find it. She balks at the prolonged search but TJ has her at his mercy. Alone in the middle of nowhere, with everything at stake, they must discover a way to either come together—or let past heartaches kill any chance at a happy future.

This is just good storytelling, plain and simple. Pam Crooks is a master at creating a sense of place and peopling it with fully dimensional characters. She draws her reader into the story so completely it matters whether or not this couple finds the truth—and each other.

I loved Callie Mae's spunk and determination. She is a smart character with a sense of humor. When she pulls a small pistol from the depths of her sleeping roll, I laughed out loud! Callie Mae entered this book ready to do whatever it took to succeed—and that included preserving her honor at all costs! Very entertaining. TJ is the perfect hero. Good looking, with honor to spare, he's a man with a dream who, despite the obstacles and pitfalls life's thrown his way, seems destined to reach his goal. Cowboys like TJ Grier make the wild west look sexy and inviting and make me wish I could step back into history.

I love reading a Pam Crooks story because she delivers every time. When I sat down and began reading KIDNAPPED BY THE COWBOY I knew I was going to be captivated—and I was right. If you've only got time to read one historical western romance, I suggest you try KIDNAPPED BY THE COWBOY. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
